스픽은 영어 말하기 연습을 목표로 하는 안드로이드/IOS 플랫폼에서 동작하는 '영어 말하기 연습/학습 어플'이다. 작년 말, 그러니까 2020년 12월 그 즈음 또는 그 직전부터 스픽에서는 인스타그램 인플루언스를 이용한 '챌린지' 마케팅을 하고 있었는데 거기에 내가 낚였다(?). 나는 인스타그램에서 꽤나 핫한 '마마몽키 @monkey.on.a.cloud' 님과 '시온맘 @herspot7' 두 분이 함께 챌린지 팀원을 모집한다는 소식을 접하고 '시온맘'의 팀원으로 합류하여 2주 챌린지에 참여했었다. 이 챌린지의 보상은 3달 프리미엄 이용권이었고, 올해 1월 초부터 시작된 2주 챌린지에 이어서 무료로 주어진 3달의 이용권은 지난 4월 23일로 종료 되었다. 나는 이벤트로 주어진 기간이 종료되기 일찌감치 전인..

북클럽 인스타그램에서 홍현주 교수님 북클럽에 조인해서 3월 말부터 읽기 시작한, 뉴베리 수상작인 'How to Steal a Dog'. 일단 책만 읽고 있는데, 세상 짠한 스토리다. 읽을 수록 속상한. 작은 습관, 그리고 지속성 현재 스픽(Speak) 어플을 4월 중순이 넘은 현재 110일째 지속 중이다. 제일 중요한 것은, 1분을 하더라도 매일 하는 지속성. 스픽을 하면서부터 제일 만족스러운 부분은, 내가 그저 흘려보냈던 내 하루 중에 1분을, 3분을, 5분을, 10분을 정말 어느 것보다 가치 있게 소비할 수 있다는 점이다. 매일 듣고 말하는 영어는 그 힘이 분명 작지 않았다. 아이에게 책을 읽어주고, 영어를 들려주고 말해주고 읽어주고, 셈을 가르치고 하는 일이 지금은 아이가 어려서(더 어릴 때부터 조..
